Your game stays on your device
Ring Around does not require an account. Your progress, discoveries, settings, saved games and personal best times are stored locally on your device. Ordinary offline play does not send your game progress to our servers. Newer versions offer optional global leaderboards, described below. We do not include advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics SDKs.
Optional global leaderboards
If you choose Join & share my times, the app creates a random player credential on your device and an automatically generated public nickname. It sends the level number, completion time, run identifier and a replay of moves to robotdrumco.com to check that the level was completed. We retain your player identifier, nickname and best time for each level; move replays are processed for validation and are not retained in the leaderboard database. Your nickname, best times and ranks are public. We do not ask for an email address or real name.
Your credential is stored in the device Keychain. This profile does not sync between devices. Network requests necessarily expose the connecting IP address to our server; temporary hashed address counters help prevent abuse and expire within an hour. Our website infrastructure may also maintain standard security and access logs.
You can pause sharing in the leaderboard screen. You can remove your global profile and scores there while connected; this does not erase local progress or personal bests. Public scores remain until removed. Deleting the app alone does not delete server-side scores. If you lose access to the device profile, contact support with your public nickname. Do not send your private credential.
Purchases
Apple processes in-app purchases and payments. The app uses Apple StoreKit to verify purchase entitlements and restore purchases. We do not receive your payment card details. Apple handles App Store and purchase information under its own privacy policies.
Diagnostics and support
Apple may provide us with diagnostic or crash reports when you choose to share them through Apple’s services. We use those reports to investigate reliability issues. If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, device details, message, and attachments. We use it to answer your request and resolve the issue. Please do not send passwords or payment details.
Sharing and retention
We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising. Support correspondence may be processed by our email service providers and retained as needed to resolve requests and meet legal obligations. We may disclose information where legally required. Local game data remains on your device until removed; deleting the app and its local data removes that saved progress. Apple purchase records are managed by Apple and may remain available for Restore Purchases.
Your choices
You can ask about, correct, or request deletion of information you sent to support by emailing support@robotdrumco.com. We may retain information where legally required. No real name or email is requested for gameplay or leaderboards. A parent or guardian may contact us about a child’s leaderboard profile or information sent to support.
Website and policy updates
Opening a web link from the app takes you to a website with its own technical processing. Our general website privacy policy is at robotdrumco.com/privacy. We will update this page if the app’s data practices change. For privacy questions, contact support@robotdrumco.com.
